Student Centre in The Hague opens this autumn

From this autumn, students at Leiden University will be able to use the new student centre in The Hague. The building offers space for student organisations, sporting activities and support services.

The Student Centre The Hague (SCTH) will be operational from the first months of the coming academic year. It is located at Turfmarkt, opposite Leiden University's Wijnhaven location. The building is an initiative of Leiden University and the municipality of The Hague to improve the living environment for students.
 

Sport, study and advice

The Student Centre will have rooms for social and cultural activities by students, study places and a fitness hall. Offices will also be available for student organisations and for various supporting services for students, such as an ombuds officer, an international student counsellor and a student psychologist. There will also be a meeting room for international students.

Growing number of students

The municipality of The Hague is contributing 2 million euros to the realisation of the Student Centre. The number of Leiden University stuents in The Hague is growing rapidly: there are currently 4,500 students taking a bachelor's or master's at the campus in The Hague.
