Dutch Prime Minister Rutte meets Leiden alumni in Jakarta

On 22 November Dutch Prime Minister Rutte met up with 400 Indonesian professionals, all of whom at some point studied in the Netherlands, during a young entrepreneurial and alumni reception at the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta.

The meeting was organised by the EP-Nuffic and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). The aim was to connect alumni with companies from the trade mission. The event highlighted the importance of cooperation in education, due to the presence of Prime Minister Rutte (History, Leiden University) and the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, who graduated at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

The Leiden Alumni made their presence known. Rutte spotted his alma mater flag and gave a thumbs up,  unfortunately this specific moment was not photographed.
