Tony Roe

docARTES candidate Tony Roe and his band Tin Men and the Telephone will meet the Metropole Orkest and the audience for two interactive concerts at De Hallen Studio’s in Amsterdam. Through the smartphone app "Tinmendo", the audience has a vital role in the performance, providing chords, melodies and rhythms for the ensemble to improvise on.

Catalina Vicens

docARTES candidate Catalina Vicens will give lecture-recitals at the University of Warwick's Conference The Musical Humanism of the Renaissance and its Legacy, to be held at Warwick's Palazzo Pesaro Papafava in Venice.

Catalina Vicens is recording with Ensemble Capella Mariana in Prague.

Also, she is playing the programme Music from Paradise - The Codice of the Dominican convent of Paradiese at Soest  (13.-15. century) with ensemble Ars Choralis Coeln.

On 25 June, Catalina Vicens will play the concert En un Vergier with Ensemble Roselis at Lorraine, France.

Magda Pucci

With her ensemble Macawa, ACPA researcher Magda Pucci presents the concert As Muitas Vozes da Voz, with repertoire based on her research on female collective chants as present in cultures from all over the world, exploring different timbres and expressions.

Her Estúdio Macawa will see the inauguration of their programme with workshops and concerts for artist-teachers of public and private schools, sponsored by the PROAC Grant of the Secretary of Culture of the province of São Paulo. The workshop on 11 June aims to stimulate reflection on the indigenous cultures of Brazil in an artistic and anthropological context, through their musical repertoires.

In the evening, Macawa's concert Rupestres Sonoros, with Ibã Sales  (shaman of the Huni-Kuin people from Acre), directed by Magda Pucci, will take place.

Hans Kalliwoda

In the intervention project Future Pollination Lab, PhDArts researcher Hans Kalliwoda conducts an interdisciplinary experimentation programme aiming to develop biotopes for pollinators in inner-city neighbourhoods, where social sustainability is a precondition for environmental sustainability. All activities are taking place at the World in a Shell (WiaS), an autarkic, mobile and autonomous art installation.

Gary Schultz

Care Of Editions, initiated by PhDArts candidate Gary Schultz, presents NICOLA RATTI / MADS EMIL NIELSEN at Spektrum.

 

Eleni Kamma

PhDArts candidate Eleni Kamma takes part in the group exhibition Without Pause, Dialogues, at the LOOP Festival, curated by Imma Prieto.

Until the beginning of June, Eleni Kamma is artist-in-residence at Tinos Quarry Platform.

Eleni Kamma participates in the residential module The Shifting Place. Aesthetic, spatial and temporal fractures of transitional territories, developed in the frame of the EU project Understanding Territoriality: Identity, Place & Possession (TIPP) at UNIDEE – University of Ideas.

Danne Ojeda

An interview with and works of PhDArts candidate Danne Ojeda have been published in Font magazine, Prague. These works were published: The Path To Modernity: Mexican Modern Painting; D-SIGN-LAB poster; This book is a chair; Scales of Babel. Find the full article (in Czech) here.
