Johan Jol Presents Report at NACILL Annual Conference

Johan Jol will defend his report during the Annual Conference of the Netherlands Association for Comparative and International Insolvency Law (‘NACIIL’). The title of his report is: ‘The future of international restructurings after the implementation of WCO II and the amendment of EIR, the best is yet to come?’ In this report Johan will provide a historic overview of the restructuring of 19 international operating Dutch companies that took place from 2002 until 2015.

During the presentation Johan will also consider amendmends to the Dutch and international insolvency legislation that were introduced during that period (or may still be pending). It includes the European Insolvency Regulation (Recast) which will become effective in 2017 or the Dutch proposal for the Enterprise Continuation Act II. Johan will question whether the changes to legislation would have had influence in the mannen in which the companies he studied would have ben restructured.

Subsequent to any comments during the Annual Conference the report will become finalised and made available at the www.nacill.org.

Johan Jol is senior legal counsel at the Legal Financial Restructuring & Recovery Department of ABN AMRO Bank N.V., also, he is an independent lecturer for Legal Houdini Academy. Since 1 September 2015 he is associated with the Department of Business Studies at Leiden Law School for one day a week.
