In the field of Intellectual property and unfair competition the team members initiated and regularly contribute to the weekly Leiden Law Lunches in IP, online every Wednesday, from 12.00 till 13.30 hrs (in Dutch). Participation is free for students, academics and judges.
The European Law Institute (ELI) and Business and Liability Research Network (BLRN) of the Leiden Law School organised a conference on restructuring of corporate groups in the afternoon of 5 December 2018. During this conference, developments at both the national and European levels were discussed. The ELI’s Instrument on Rescue of Business in Insolvency Law (ELI Business Rescue Instrument) drafted under the leadership of Prof Em Bob Wessels and Prof Stephan Madaus was the starting point for discussions on the treatment of insolvent corporate groups.
The Future Business Structures project team - a research group within the Business & Liability Research Network (BLRN) - proudly presents an interactive seminar with Aron Fischer, lead researcher of both the Ethereum Foundation's Swarm team, which is responsible for developing a decentralized storage platform, and Colony, a platform for open, blockchain-based organisations which facilitates decentralized collaboration.
On 25 and 26 January 2018, the opening conference of the Business & Liability Research Network took place at Leiden University, the Netherlands. Leading academics, business leaders, policy makers, practitioners and regulators came together to debate fundamental aspects of business resilience: long-term value creation, technology and (directors’) liability.
