Graduate School of Humanities
Many researchers in the Faculty of Humanities are members of a research school related to their area of expertise. Research schools aim at collaboration of researchers from different faculties in the same university (interfaculty schools) or in different universities (interuniversity schools).
Even though the university Graduate Schools are primarily responsible for the training and supervision of PhD-students, interuniversity PhD courses are also offered by the research schools. These courses offer training in both methodology and area specific knowledge. Moreover, they provide PhD students with the opportunity to come into contact with fellow PhD students from other universities.
The humanities and arts faculties have agreed with the research schools that the schools will organise courses that can easily be incorporated in the programmes offered by the faculty graduate schools. According to an agreement between the faculties and the research schools, not only PhD students, but also Research Master's students can follow courses at the research schools. The agreement and the application procedure is specified in this letter.
LOGOS is the council of the national Dutch research schools in the Humanities. This platform was founded in 2008 to exchange ideas about the best ways in which these national research schools could be organised.
