Conference Leadership Crossing Boundaries
Within the scope of the Leadership Crossing Boundaries project, the LLC held a conference in The Hague on 9 and 10 November 2017.The focus of this inspiring conference was sharing and developing knowledge on public leadership. Academics from the Netherlands and abroad, students from various degree programmes and representatives of various organisations from the practice came together to discuss innovative and active working methods in public leadership.

Maarten Schurink (Chair of the Board, Sociale Verzekeringsbank) and Koen de Snoo (Deputy Town Clerk, The Hague) spoke about the experiences of and leadership questions in their organisations and how they give shape to these in practice.
International academics also revealed their insights. Stefan Boye (Aarhus University) took part in the panel discussion and gave a workshop on change leadership together with Dr Ben Kuipers. The panel responded to video contributions from Prof. Lotte Bøgh Andersen (Aarhus University), Prof. Rune Todnem By (Staffordshire University) and Prof. Sonia Ospina (NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service).
Prof. Sandra Groeneveld, Dr. Ben Kuipers, Dr. Bert Fraussen en Tanachia Ashikali have been actively involved in the LLC’s Leadership Crossing Boundaries project. They shared their learnings about public leadership in the workshops and panel discussion.
The LLC and its partners continue to actively bring together academia and practice through the ‘Leiden Leadership Network’ on LinkedIn by organising follow-up workshops and by implementing the research and development agenda.
