Are you interested in the bachelor’s programme in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology? Would you like to get a taste of what it’s like to be a student here and if anthropology is the right choice for you? Great news: You can join us in an online experience and follow lectures on the four key themes of our programme: Sustainability, Diversity, Digitalisation and Methodology. The mini-lectures and assignments are similar to what you can expect of the actual courses and lectures. It will help answering questions such as: does this bachelor's programme suit me? Does the programme meet my interests and capabilities?

What can you expect?

  • This online module will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete.
  • All the online lectures revolve around the same story: The story of Maria, a young and promising woman from the Philippines who migrates to the Netherlands.
  • The online lectures are all divided into short clips. Every clip is followed by a quiz-question. Try to answer them, they function as a tool for you to learn about the course material.
  • In addition to the online lectures we offer you information about what it's like to study at our institute, about the student city Leiden and about the career choices of 5 of our alumni

When does it take place?
