Two days of Experimental Archaeology
The Experimental Committee is proud to present: The Experimental Days of 2026 that will take place on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 of April at Van Steenis!
The start will be on Thursday the 23rd of April at 10,with a plethora of fascinating workshops, where you can experience many different aspects of experimental approaches to archaeology! Workshops will take place outside on the Faculty grounds and inside the Laboratory for Material Science, Technology and Culture. You can expect glass bead making, flint knapping, blacksmithing, experiments with Terra Sigilata and much more.
The second day on Friday the 24th from 9:30 there will be a symposium bringing together nine speakers to shed light on experimental archaeology!
Come and listen in on a wide range of topics, use-cases and approaches and then enjoy good conversations and snacks during the faculty drinks
Both days are open to visit for free by anyone!
