This music concert also a homage to the Independence of Paraguay commemorated every May 14 and 15. A Paraguayan traditional dish will be served to celebrate this. The recipe is appropriate for vegetarians.

To present her country of birth, vocalist and multilingual scholar Romy Martinez, PhD, sings in the indigenous Guarani and Spanish languages, both of which are official and widely spoken in Paraguay. In addition, she sings in Brazilian Portuguese, English, and Dutch. She seeks to portray the distinctiveness of colonial and indigenous languages and plurilingualism from a global perspective, mixing the Southern hemisphere of Latin America with the North of Europe. Romy is accompanied by the Argentinian guitarist Alvaro Rovira Ruiz who performs the fascinating rhythms of tango and folklore.

Additionally, Ms. Martinez will provide a concert booklet (with lyrics and translations) and an online multilingual survey. These are intended as mediation tools to guide to the listener's experience of the concert and for those who wish to engage with her academic work by providing feedback as part of an international audience.
