About to switch career, or thinking about it? Or are you just curious what else you could do with your law degree? We have a number of fellow alumni who are prepared to share their often very extensive and varying experiences with you, and to tell you about their current jobs.

• Martijn van Klaveren has held various positions after graduating with a degree in civil law. First he worked as a lawyer, then he switched to the media sector where, among other things, he worked as editor-in-chief, head of legal affairs, and head of communications. Since 2020 he has been working as Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement at Novamedia.
• Wouter Schmit Jongbloed graduated from Leiden University in 2007 with a master’s degree in Encyclopedie en filosofie van het recht, studying philosophical issues and the concepts upon which law is founded. He was later awarded a doctorate from Columbia University. Since then, he has held various positions and is now working as head of the Political Risk Analysis Department at Exante Data in New York.
• Pauline Breitbarth started in the legal profession in 1995 and via the financial sector has ended up in the energy business working as Senior Legal Counsel for Total in Brussels.
• Sanne Overbosch started her career as lawyer with Allen & Overy and switched to Shell after five years. She had several functions with Shell, one of them being ‘Head of Legal Qatar Shell’. Currently Sanne is head of the legal department of Shell Netherlands and Associate General Counsel Technology & Digital.
