Introduction Week Mentors
Our bad-ass Intro Week mentor group have been busy bees, planning the upcoming Intro Week, and working on all the information you may need before you arrive. Though Intro Week will be mostly online, the programme is packed with many moments to connect, learn from eachother, get the tools you need to get started, and become part of our LUC community. Meet our Mentors below. To start with our head mentors Diva and Tessa. They are the leaders of this amazing group. You will get to meet them, and most of our mentors in the upcoming Pre-Union.
Head Mentors: Tessa & Diva
Hi everyone, we're Diva and Tessa: your head mentors for this year's Introweek!!
We met each other on the first day of our first year as we both live on floor 17, and have experienced many adventures together! We hitchhiked to Prague, visited Marseille and Paris, Diva persuaded Tessa to apply for the Fortuna Board where we were Board members for a year, we're co-chairs of the Lustrum team, and we went to Bali together with our group of friends last winter break. We are now helping organize the first-ever online Introweek, and we are very excited to meet all of the new students!
Let me (Tessa) introduce Diva to you: she is from Jakarta and makes amazing Indonesian food, loves cats, loves to party and is just a really sweet and caring person. She is also unbelievably active in the LUC community as a Fortuna Board member, part of the events organization team IIAM, future LUC.ID chair and of course as my amazing fellow head-mentor! She is super hard working, devoted and creative and I’m certain she will help make Introweek a huge success!
Now it's my (Diva's) turn to introduce Tessa! She is from Leiden, arguably the most beautiful city in the Netherlands. And did you know that Tessa is a seasoned badminton player? Her expertise and determination do not stop in the field, however. Aside from being an amazing friend and dedicated vegan, she’s been a busy bee in any field in LUC: from being a part of the Fortuna board as the secretary, she's also a captain of LUC’s badminton team, a student ambassador, and working on the UnPlastic initiative. Her experiences and dedication will help make Introweek a success!
Together, we make an amazing team and we're super excited to bring an amazing Introweek to you guys, in whatever form it will be!
With love,
Diva and Tessa
Group 1: Zaira & Olivier
Hey future LUC firsties,
We are Zaira and Olivier from mentor group 1 (obviously the best group) and we would like to welcome you to LUC and show you the ropes during intro week. We have been friends since our own intro-week and both live on floor 11, and as such annoy each other almost daily.
Though the current situation is less than ideal, I’m sure we’ll all make the most of the opportunities still available to us (and have a massive party when its over). Now a bit more about ourselves:
Olivier usually goes by Oli and is one of the most outgoing people you will meet, even though he claims that he used to be a socially inept introvert before arriving at LUC. Now he loves bantering with everyone whether it be in the elevator to class or in the hallways of a floor that isn’t his own. Oli is also quite involved within LUC, having worked on a few different things, such as student for a day tours, so you might have already met him. Zaira on the other hand, is a little more responsible than Oli, but is still quite the party animal as you will see soon enough. She can be easily compared to a sunflower, not only is that her favorite flower, but when the sun is out she’s happy. But then again she’s always in a good mood.
Having spent a majority of our lives in warmer countries, we naturally love the sun and beach so we don’t know how we ended up here. Oli spent most of his life in South East Asia but went to boarding school in Australia before coming here. Zaira on the other hand spent most of her childhood in Africa (Kenya and Mozambique) but also lived in the Netherlands for a few years.
The both of us are sporty people, so we’re definitely not enjoying quarantine, and miss playing indoor football together for the LUC team. Furthermore, Oli enjoys playing basketball and Zaira loves dancing. She even got Oli to go to one of her salsa classes, which he thoroughly enjoyed even though he’ll never admit it. I saw you go a second time Oli… Luckily for Zaira, she enjoys her arts, whilst Oli couldn’t draw a stick figure if his life depended on it. And as such Oli is much more bored in quarantine. However, he is starting to take a liking to cooking, but I wouldn’t trust his food yet though.
Even though we have quite different personalities, we still work well together and enjoy each other’s company. And we can’t wait to meet you all. See you soon and stay safe.
Zaira and Oli
Group 2: Laura & Emma
Once upon a time there were two girls who were living their lives on opposite sides of the globe, minding their own business and basically just being boss ass ladies. Laura was a Portuguese/Dutch/American hybrid who spent her childhood in New Jersey eating bagels and listening to the Jonas Brothers, but despite her pride for Dirty Jerz when anyone on the street asks her where she’s from she’ll say New York. Emma, on the other hand, was a Chinese/German girl from Hamburg - or, not really, actually. She is one of those who says she is from Hamburg, when really living in a picturesque boring town one hour away, where you just want to have kids, retire and die the moment you arrive. Unlike other LUC students, who have lived in the most exciting, different countries, Emma has stayed there her whole adolescence. Escape was inevitable.
After high school, both girls weren’t quite ready to settle on a study program. So Emma travelled to Chile to volunteer at a youth centre and Laura took a year to learn the beautiful Dutch language and reconnect with her roots (not as exciting, I know).
Then, a magical force brought both girls to not only the same country, but the same city, same small university college, same mentor group, and same floor. It was just meant to be. Together Emma and Laura started their journey at LUC. Laura has decided to major in International Justice, while Emma will mejor in Human Diversity.
Now, you can find them in the 11th or 21st common room, a café, the gym or at Coasters - Emma is the one that thinks 10 minutes about what to try out but goes with a beer anyways, while Laura swears by ordering the same drink as the person next to her. But most likely, they will be in Scheveningen, enjoying the beautiful beach - one of the places they are excited to show to the next firsties.
Hey hey, lovely First Years,
This is the short version of our personal story! What is yours? We cannot wait to meet you all and hear them (no matter if offline or online).
We wish you all the best, wherever you may be at the moment. Keep hopeful and excited, despite the crazy circumstances in which you will start your Uni life :)
Cheers to a new beginning, new friends and beautiful experiences,
Cheers to mentor group 2!
Laura and Emma
Group 3: Chiara & Anuka
Our role as mentors are to make you guys feel welcomed, included into the LUC community, and generally settled in the first few weeks. And we are going to do our best in doing just that.
Anuka and Chiara are the most fun-loving and creative pairs of mentors that there is. They are here to show you the hidden wonders of LUC through music, dance, art, thrifting, exploring new areas, and honestly just chilling out. Chiara is Italian, American, and French from Paris. She is majoring in International Justice and feels passionate about social and human rights. She is a performer and plays the guitar and the electric bass. She loves going dancing with her friends and helping her community thrive.
Anuka is Georgian and German majoring in Human Diversity. She likes to be the chill person of the friend group and is great at solving problems and just being there as a friend. She is also uses her creativity skills in colourful makeup looks and painting as well.
Together we hope that you can find a grain of something that you like. We want to show the best that LUC has to offer and show you that a "strange" university experience is exactly what we lived and we are happy to give you the best tips on saving money, avoiding crowds, discovering interesting new areas and just enjoying the first year of your life. We want to be there for you, so if u have any questions or concerns we will always be ready to answer them. Our role as mentors are to make you guys feel welcomed, included into the LUC community, and generally settled in the first few weeks. And we are going to do our best in doing just that.
Group 4: Dewi & Delphine
Hey firsties!
We are Dewi and Delphine, mentors for group 4 and we are ready to make your intro week an amazing experience. We are both from the penthouse (aka floor 21) and we became super close friends during our intro week last year ;) We had travel plans to visit Verona and write our own letters to Juliet but… you know how that went. Dewi is majoring in Human Diversity and Delphine is majoring in Governance, Economics, and Development. If you guys need any advice on living in the Hague, life at LUC, or whatever questions you firsties might have, we are here to help.
Now, a bit about us...
Dewi is filipino but she was raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. If you ever need her, she'll be late but she'll always be there. Also she's an amazing cook but if, like Delphine, you weakly can't handle spices, stay away from her kitchen ;) Dewi is a real artist, she is LUC's own Beyonce and knows how to transform every night into a show. You can always trust Delphine to be the proud mom filming the performance and clapping like crazy.
Delphine is Belgian but she was raised in Paris. She is incredibly patient until it comes to waiting for her fries at Smullers. Delphine is a dancer, and a great one at that—she’s part of BYA’s Dance committee and kills it at every performance. She’s also weirdly good at getting zippers unstuck on your coat, so when winter rolls around, you know who to look for. Dewi knows she is lucky to have someone so understanding and who owns more than two forks living next to her. If you ever need advice on how to be an amazing friend, Delphine is right there with her saucissons to share.
When we are together, we love to party even if it's most of the time in our rooms, chill nights are the best. If you wanna know the Hague a bit better come with us on our walks (yeah we kinda sound like grandmas). And we love the Gypsy Jazz nights at Gekke Geit, the tiniest but best bar in the Hague, or a chill beer down at Zwarte Ruiter on Grote Markt more than anything. If you need a recommendation for a good pint, we’re your girls! But mostly, we are here for each other and, if one of us feels down, the other is always there to come and watch eat, pray, love in bed with paprika chips and hummus.
We can’t wait to meet (cough, cough Zoom) our mentees! Stay safe and stay healthy! <3
Group 5: Emma & Anureet
HELLO CLASS OF 2023, HELLO TEAM 5!! okay this might be too much... psht whatever.
We are Emma and Anureet - both floor 19ers reporting for duty! As you will probably soon find out we are pretty cool people with pretty cool music taste (both of us are going through One Direction phases, but fear not!). We cannot wait to guide you through the adventure that is LUC, filled with twists and turns. This intro week and times to come after is your chance to make the best of friends, in the best of universities, in the best of cities, with the best of people! (Us)
Emma is 19- coming from France and England, but mostly France. As a French person and a self-proclaimed cheese expert- she loves a good cheese and wine night. If you want to rile her up simply talk about how good Dutch cheese is. She has an incredible connection with nature, especially mountains. She spent a year in Alaska for exchange which is one of her favorite things to talk about (more like won’t stop talking about). She is your person if you want to listen to some crazy bear stories! She is a World Politics Major!
Anureet is 18 coming from India however she calls Vietnam home having lived there since she was 9. She is pretty funny if your type of humor is the sarcastic and sassy kind (Emma loves it, that's why we get along so well). She can get quite stubborn but in a good way. She is also an early bird, some might say an extreme early bird as she often wakes up at 3 am simply to finish her work. She is a Governance, Economics, and Development Major!
Both of us love a night in, and have weekly movie nights on weekends. We really appreciate a good rom-com (hit us up if you're down). We are also really creative individuals (haha). For Halloween, the two of us went as frat boys and we were perhaps (no definitely) the most obnoxious people you would have ever met. We also try to do art nights every so often with some cheap wine, but most of the time it just ends with us dancing to trashy Top 40 music.
We hope this introduction tells you a bit about the type of people we are! We can’t wait to meet you guys and we hope you are excited as well!
Anureet and Emma, Group 5 Mentors.
Group 6: Tenny & Lola
Hi there,
we are Tenny and Lola and we are going to be the mentors of group 6 :) To make sure you get to know us a little already, let us introduce each other:
This is Tenny, from Colorado in Ameeeerica, heck yeah. If you ever want a good cafe for any occasion, Tenny can help you find one (in fact, this is where you will most often find her). Tenny basically is the incarnation of GPH - which is also gonna be her major. So if you ever have questions about health or are doubting your major choice, hit her up. But careful: Her success rate of convincing her unsure counterparts of doing GPH is almost 100%! In conclusion: Tenny is a BADASS - loving and caring like a mom who will do anything for you. She is a lioness - even though she might be tiny :)
This is Lola, from Coburg, Germany. Before LUC, she did two gap years in Hamburg and Namibia, so she has some extra wisdom about living away from home. Her first love is the environment and you can often find her hugging trees. If you want to get involved in a climate march, ask Lola -- she’s probably signed up for at least five and can help you make some signs with the cardboard she keeps under her bed. She gives the best hugs ever and her friends always come to get a Lola hug when they are upset. She is obsessed with cheese and potatoes (don’t even get her started on cheesy potatoes). Lola is the best of both worlds: silly when you need to laugh, and kind when you need a friend.
We met the first time the evening before the start of our own Introweek, and have been inseparable ever since. Imagine a romantic movie in which one person (Tenny) sees another person (Lola) across the bar (Coasters) and thinks, “I have to talk to her.” And now, we never stop talking. We love hugs, especially since Tenny fits in Lola’s arms so perfectly. We know how hard it can be to be far away from home, and life is just better with a hug - or nine :) We love to travel together and also love to eat pinda fries after submitting midnight deadlines. We are excited to meet you … even if only online for now.
Stay safe everyone and hopefully see you soon!!
Group 8: Giulia & Hanna
Holla chicas and chicos,
We hope y’all are doing well in quarantine and not getting bored out of your mind. Most of you taking the IB got your exams cancelled (which we are so jealous about). We are Giulia and Hanna, GROUP 8 MENTORS (for those lucky enough to be with us) and we hope to be able to introduce you to your new homes here in The Hague and to create fun and wild experiences for y’all!!!!!! (Ps. We are known to be chaotic and crazy, so BRING IT ON) Here is a small introduction :)
Hanna is 18 years old and from Germany, although she has barely lived there, and has lived in the US and China most of her life. Giulia is also 18 and is Belgian/Italian. Similarly, to Hanna she has barely lived in her hometown and instead has lived in Kenya, Congo, Myanmar and Azerbaijan. Additionally, both of us are majoring in Governance, Economics and Development. Anyways enough with the boring stuff.
As you will tell when you meet us, we are inseparable since day one (we were in the same mentor group) and know how to talk to each other with our eyes and in mandarin, so don’t make us mad cause can talk secretly to each other. We LOVE partying (BIG TIME, any day, any time) although our beds are a BIG temptation to us and we usually cancel plans and just take naps together and eat CHOCOLATE. If you wanna be a mentor’s pet bring chocolate. We also LOVE sports, Hanna mostly football and Giulia softball. We also love new adventures and playing all sorts of games and finally we love traveling and are planning several trips together next year :)
Personality wise, Hanna is a sweet and loving girl, she is quite tiny but dont be fooled as she wears gigantic heels and is feisty. Nevertheless, she is always there for anyone and ready with a big stash of junk food for mental breakdowns.
One might say that Hanna is the bad cop and Giulia is the good cop in the friendship. Giulia is very genuine, caring and loves helping people out. Whether that be with homework or personal issues. If you got a problem definitely hit her up, she will find a way to help you out. Other than that, Giulia is very entertaining and lively, is always down for a crazy adventure. At times she is known to also show her feisty side, but she usually leaves that to Hanna.
That’s all from us as we have probably already said too much and we want to leave things mysterious for y’all. We hope to see you guys super soon and are super super duper exited to meet you guys and show you around!!!!!!
Xoxo Hanna and Giulia, Group 8 mentors!!
Group 9: Edde & Jort
Hello future first-years!
We hope you’re all doing well! We are Edde and Jort, two Dutch guys from the beautiful city Utrecht. We're not just from the same city, we’ve actually been close friends since primary school! We can therefore answer all the questions you may have about the Dutch language and culture and tell you everything about the student life in The Hague. But first let’s tell a little bit more about ourselves:
Edde will be majoring in Governance, Economics and Development. Edde is really into his sports; his biggest passion is football, but you will also often see him at the weekly volleyball practice and in the student gym. This year, he has been a student representative of the Programme Council so he can answer (almost) all of your questions about LUC’s curriculum. Besides that, Edde likes to talk with friends, attend parties and learn languages.
Jort is going to do the Double Degree programme in which he combines a major in International Justice with Leiden Law School. The past year Jort has been active in the LUC Volunteer committee and now participates in the board, so feel free to ask him any questions if you want to do some volunteer work during your studies in the Hague. Other than that, Jort likes to read, go for a run and have a beer with friends.
We hope that we will make this introduction week, despite all the circumstances, an unforgettable experience and can give you a warm welcome in this amazing community!
Stay safe and we hope to see you all in August :)
Group 10: Eline & Julie
Hello our dear new LUC-ers!
We hope you are doing well, wherever in the world you may be right now, and have survived these very strange past few months (don’t know about you but we‘ve definitely had our share of breakdowns!)
We are Julie (21) from Luxembourg and Eline (20) from Germany and the Netherlands and are very much looking forward to being your intro-week mentors and finally getting to know all of you. As you can probably tell from our lovely mentor duo picture, we are very cheerful and lively people who love this beautiful city of the Hague and all the wonderful treats it has to offer 😋🍦 Even though, the start of LUC may be different from what you expected, we will do our very best to give you a little taste of this beautiful place and let you fall in love with it as well. Apart from enjoying to be out and about, you‘ll probably see us around on floor 1 at Coasters (pretty much every Thursday), on the basketball/volleyball field or on floor 8 chilling on the couch (mostly Julie‘s because she has the most comfortable couch ever) with some wine/coffee/tea and discussing the world with each other and anyone else who pops by, perhaps some of you guys very soon!
We hope this little sneak peak into LUC life makes you even more excited to come and join us. Cheers to a good year?
Love,
Julie and Eline
Group 11: Noa & Victoria
Hola soon-to-be LUC first yearsss,
We’re Victoria and Noa, and welcome to MENTOR GROUP 11 (aka the best mentor group)!! We are super excited to meet all of you in August and hope you guys are excited to start your journey at LUC, whether that is from abroad or here with us in the Hague! We’re here to help you with whatever questions you guys may have about the process that is becoming a part of the LUC community so feel free to hit us up!
Sooo, let us introduce ourslevesss…
Although Victoria is from Colombia and Switzerland, and Noa is a Dutchie, we have both grown up abroad as international, third culture kids (yes, we’re “those kids”). Victoria was born in Colombia, but has also lived in Switzerland, the DRC, Indonesia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela. Noa was born in Senegal, but also lived in Vietnam, the Netherlands for a teeny tiny bit, Zambia and Tanzania.
We are the perfect Latina-Dutchie duo; Noa teaches Victoria how to dance when “Traag” comes on in the club (for the non-Dutchies, don’t worry you’ll learn) and Victoria takes Noa to salsa classes where she deeply embarrasses herself. We love to party, especially when it involves dancing all night to music that actually has lyrics (we usually ditch to go eat fries at Smullers or at Chicken Spot once the techno takes over) and you will most likely find us either at Tequila Tuesdays, Prohibition Nights or at parties like Fiesta Macumba and Mama Africa. We are also always down for dinners and movie nights, of which we have many.
We actually met during our own intro week and have been inseparable since (so we hope we can help you guys make some amazing friendships with such a beautiful love story during your intro week too hahaha!). We are super excited to plan amazing virtual, corona-regulations-abiding activities for you guys and don’t worry - we owe you a beach day.
Anywayssss, we’re really looking forward to meeting you guys, and we hope you’re excited to meet us, especially if you’re one of the lucky few who get to be a part of MENTOR GROUP 11! If you have any questions during the upcoming months don't hesitate to hit us up, we’ll (hopefully) have the answers!!
Lots of loveeee,
Noa and Victoria
Group 12: Otto & Yasmine
Hiya firsties! We’re Otto and Yasmine and we’ll be mentors of group 12 this introweek. Otto is a Cosmopolitan majoring in World Politics and Yasmine is quite the opposite (very Dutch), and majoring in HD. We both live on floor 6 (bEsT fLOoR) and we like to have a bunch of fun. Our hobbies include watching animal documentaries, going out and reading wattpad stories about Timothee Chalamet. We met during our own introweek, and we hope we can make it as great as it was for us.
Although we’re both quite easy going and chill people, there’s still a bit to explain about ourselves:
Yasmine is from Enschede, which is basically Germany. She is LUC’s best barber (if you ever need a haircut hit her up), always has the funniest memes, knows a plethora of oddly specific scientific facts, and is generally super fun to be around. She has helped make the LUC community a better place by helping plan an event called “Drinking for Charity,” helping the international students register, and being an overall great presence.
Otto is technically German, but has lived in nearly every place in the world except for Germany. He is very involved within the LUC community, successfully joining as many committees as past countries of residence. He can talk about any movie known to mankind and hosts the nicest movie nights, but occasionally you’ll be able to spot him bartending at Coasters or dancing on a platform in the club Havana’s. Otto’s ability to chill and have a good time make him a great person to be around.
We can’t wait to meet everyone and have a great time. Just remember that mentor group 12 is the best!
Otto & Yasmine
Group 13: Farah & Zayane
Hello! We are Farah and Zayane, your beloved mentors for group 13!!!
Farah is a 19-year-old Indonesian who Zayane considers as a joyful and energetic human being. If I had to define her in one word, I would say “extra”. She is involved in so many things that I’m pretty sure I forget some. She is part of UNICEF Students Team The Hague and if you’ve ever wondered who was the amazing artist behind the graphic design of some of their posts on Instagram, you know who it is ;) She loves to plan fun and crazy events and she is also really organised even if I bet she would tell you the very opposite. She loves everything that has to do with administrative stuff (and Zayane really admires her for that 😂). She does everything 100% and is always passionate about what she does. But most importantly, she will manage to make you laugh and support you without even you asking. (P.S. She is also the craziest person Zayane knows 😘).
Zayane is also the same age as Farah, and she comes from France. She is the kindest and the most nurturing person Farah knows and all of her friends love her! She has so much passion in photography and every frame she took turned out so beautifully 😆❤️ (she’s probably an LUC.ID honorary member by now) She likes to hang out and talk about life over a cup of tea with her friends at night or bake nice bread and cake, which sometimes she feeds to Farah lmao. On top of that she appreciates art and aesthetics a lot–you can tell the second you enter her room! Compared to Farah, she’s more calm and composed and when she’s alone, she prefers to read her book or knit some hats. Overall, she is a very sweet girl and pretty sure you will love her too!!! 😊
See you soon!!! 🌟
Group 14: Tirza & Medeea
Hi, everyone! Tirza and Medeea here, representing mentor group 14 and maybe your future mentors! We’d like to send you a warm welcome on behalf of the entire Intro Week team and of the LUC community seeing as we are all very excited to meet you. However, since there is still quite a bit of time left before we do, we’ll use this chance for you to meet us.
We are quite different people, united by our friendship and our common passion for theatre and music, but regardless of our differences, we consider ourselves to be two halves of a better whole since we bring out the best in each other.
The first half of this duo is Tirza. She is a fun and energetic person, always there to greet you with a smile and one of the best huggers out there! She is a friendly Dutchie, tall enough to reach the top shelf for whoever might need it, and by that I mean me (Medeea), I always need it. She is majoring in Global Public Health, so no more pandemics on her watch, but her passions don’t resort to science. She loves to express herself through art especially through music and theatre and you should definitely keep an eye out for the Pantomime that she will be directing in the coming academic year. She’ll literally make a song and dance out of almost anything and she is for sure excited to spread that type of enthusiasm with you.
The second half of this duo is Medeea. She’s Romanian, and is one of those people that is super welcoming and a great friend, and also does not take shit from anyone. She’s a Governance, Economics and Development major, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s fighting corruption in a couple of years. She said i was a good hugger, but I think that would make her a GREAT hugger. As she mentioned in the paragraph before, she and I bonded over our shared love for theatre and music, and she’s super talented! You should definitely keep an eye out for the winter play next year, because she’ll be directing ;) In the meantime if you wanna see more of her she also has a YouTube channel, which you all should check out if you wanna see some really cool covers!
We’re both really excited to meet all of you and can’t wait to get you guys started at LUC!
Group 15: Max & Theo
HELLO THERE, soon-to-be LUC-ers! We hope that exams, schoolwork, and a global pandemic exposing all the flaws of capitalism and consumerism hasn’t made all of you lose your minds. However, if you are insane by the time you make it here, you’ll be just as crazy as we are so there’s no need to worry!
Our aim is to introduce y’all to LUC, AvB, and the City of The Hague in the fun-est way possible, and also to keep you all safe from Corona :)
Max originates from the faraway outskirts of Moscow. He used to play football for 6 years in a football academy. Now, his main interests are urbanism & architecture; working out; and learning Dutch, which became a daily routine: (P.S he recently completed the whole Duolingo course 😎). Other than that, Max is a super-approachable person, who loves small cosy company to have a chat; also one of his most important values in life is laughter: He is on the path to mastering the fine art of friendly banter.
Theo, on the other hand, comes from the less-faraway land of London, but still manages to express his frenchness by constantly making French YouTube & Film references to whoever’s listening (c’est une bonne situation, ca, scribe?). Theo also somehow thinks that really liking Indie Australian rock music is an actual personality trait, and isn’t afraid to Karaoke just about any Panic! at the Disco song. He’s also super approachable, also loves small cosy company to chat, and values laughter very highly: just above beating Max at FIFA, and just below generosity & kindness.
Oh, we just can’t WAIT to (be kiiiing) meet you all, whether that be online or in person. Keep grinding for those who still need to, there’s light at the end of the tunnel: you’ll be able to chill out soon enough!
L8er Sk8ers,
Max & Theo
Group 16: Chloé & Joyce
Heyyy everyone😊)) Welcome to your wildest, cheekyest and grooviest mentor group: 16!!! We never go a party without our magic hats and hats off to them for being there through thick and thin. Even though our hats make a lot of magic happen we also manage to make some magic happen, whether it be when Chloé climbs on top of the avb wardrobes and dances on top of them or when Joyce throws a shoe out onto the avb terrace…. Having said that we can also make the magic happen by helping you out in your first steps in this crazy ride that is life at LUC.
Joyce or ‘whoops’ is a true dutch girl. With the eyes and smile of an angel she will always surprise you and sometimes her life feels like one big woops but she manages all her whoops. Joyce will never say no to a party, she’s always down. Next to this she works as a waitress and is always working very hard for any academic work. She is dedicated and committed in everything that she does and can help you with anything dutch relateded. Joyce is also a true genuine sweetheart with everyone and will care for everyone and be there for you whenever you may need it.
Chloé or cheeky chloe is a true southern French girl. Although she lived in Arkansas for 5 years she is now a full time lover of French music (Jul, nekfeu or Lorenzo) and will always be down to throw her hands in the air and dance to some hits. Any salad with raw onion makes her happy. She will eat more raw onion than drink water in a day. Also Chloé is a jagerbomb expert as well as handball lover. Next to this she will always be smiling and loves helping others. Academic wise, she can write a 3000 word essay in 2 hours at 3 a.m and not stress about it. Although she loves sarcasm this was not sarcastic.
Both of us together are loyal havana’s and coasters attendees, solid beer pong partners and most of all Cha cha slide addicts. We can’t wait to meet y'all and make sure to be there for you guys for help, information, advice or anything you feel unsure or worried about.
Cheeerrrssssss and lots of love
Xxxx Joyce and Chloé
