Intro Month
The start of the academic year is always exciting. The start of the academic year after being online for a year and a half and slowly coming back to campus even more exciting. LUC introduces this year a special "Intro Month" for new first years and returning students and staff. A series of events to get the community together and kick-off this new year!
Intro month is mostly for first-year students but there are a few activities that are meant for the whole LUC community. Please note the calendar is subject to change.
4 Sept: Shopping Excursions (on your own)
Were you not able to get those last items to make your new home perfect? The mentors have compiled a booklet with tips, tricks and hints of where you can get your goodies. Plan your shopping excursions with a small group of friends, and remember to keep it small and safe!

Get Your Stuff 1018 Sept: First-year advising | 13:00 - 15:00
As a first year you will be put in a first year advising mentor group. This will be your first meeting with your new mentors and group. This is a VERY important session to attend.
You will receive more information in your e-mails soon.
8 Sept: Fortuna Committee Fair | 14:00 - 18:00
Fortuna plans a yearly committee fair where you can learn from all the different committes and clubs you can join. The fair is open to all first, second and third years.
Second and Third years | Sign up via Fortuna for a slot of 30 minutes between 14:00 and 15:00. To make an in-person-fair possible, we have to adhere to corona guidelines and only have a limited amount of spaces, so sign up quickly.
First years | Will attend in their mentor groups between 15:00 and 18:00. First years do NOT have to fill out the sign up form, instead they are receiving more information on when their timeslot is by their mentors! First years without a mentor group can use the sign up form.
There will be a recommended route and a floor plan available, make sure to start on Floor 1, next to the Fortuna office!

18 Sept: Game Day! | 11:00 - 13:00
The final weekend in your Intro Week groups - time to show the other mentor groups who's the best!
Join all first years for a morning of playing games at the forest across the street. Come prepared for some running, some laughing, and remembering those childhood days!
Recommended to bring comfy shoes and a water bottle.
This is open only to first years and mentors.
How to Get There?
Game day takes place at the Walther Boerweide in Haagse Bos. You can walk there in 10 minutes - it is apst the Robin Hood playgroud.
22 Sept: Wrap-Up Journaling | Mentor session | 14:00 - 15:00
The mentors will join the journaling team in a last session to wrap up the journaling experience.
Have you been actively journalling and interested in hearing more about how to continue with this practice? First years are also welcome to share thoughts and experiences. So feel free to join!
The meeting will take place in classroom 2.14 & 2.16 from 14:00 t0 15:00.
22 Sept: Mystery Game | 19:00 - 20:30
Mentor duo 18 was mysteriously dismissed from their role as mentors before the start of Intro Week. Rumours have been flying around the first year student body - can you figure out what actually happened?
Dress up as your assigned character and put on your best theatrical show for the mystery game.
29 Sept: LUC's birthday Picnic! | 13:00 - 16:00
11 years ago LUC started, so now that we are in the double digits get ready to have double the fun. Stay tuned for whats in store!
29 Sept: Air Band Battle | 18:30 - 22:00
Even if it’s a bit later than we expected we are very excited to introduce you to LUC Intro Week’s biggest and brightest event: the Airband Battle! The epic battle of all times across Intro Week mentor groups.
You got a theme, you got a prop, and now you got to show those moves! Together with your mentor group, you will put together an act based on themes and props competing against the others in the ultimate LUC battle. Get ready to dance, act and perform to your favorite song in front of the whole community and the judges, which will choose the grand winner at the end of an unforgettable night!
You can watch the live performances online. Please make sure if you will be watching together to do so in small groups.
