Dear friends of the institute,
Considering the ongoing developments surrounding Covid-19 in Egypt and in accordance with Leiden University regulations, we have decided to cancel the Dutch courses for the time being. We will reevaluate the situation in December 2021 the soonest.
The NWIB Visiting Professors Programme offers assistant professors, associate professors and full professors at participating universities a unique opportunity to work undisturbed in an inspiring and stimulating environment. This programme enables you to stay at one of the five Netherlands Scientific Institutes Abroad (NWIBs) for a period of three months to conduct research, give lectures and contribute to the intellectual climate at the Institute.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the Archaeology/Egyptology programme for this year comes in a new form. It is all-digital; consisting of virtual museum tours, Arabic classes, and Egyptology lectures!
Dear library friends,
A word from our director
Dear NVIC friends,
As we are working towards a soft reopening of our institute and library, we have decided to open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am to 3 pm, for a limited number of people, by personal appointment, from the 9th of September on.
Important update: the Dutch courses have been cancelled for the upcoming round of September-December 2020, in line with Leiden University regulations. There will not be an online replacement course. We will reassess the situation again for the next round, in January 2021.
