Game Research Lab

The Game Research Lab uses digital games as a medium for academic research. It considers entertainment games and 'serious’ games as objects of study, develops novel approaches for creating, playing, and analysing games, and studies the interactions between games and AI.

Interdisciplinary collaborations

The lab is fundamentally interdisciplinary and pursues collaborations that challenge the current understanding of games. Its research has strong links to HCI, cognitive science, social science, and digital humanities.

Lecturers of the Media Technology program collaborate in the Game Research Lab, and former students do PhD research there.
