At BNAIC/Benelearn 2020, the Belgium Netherlands conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. For the video essay "Evolving Virtual Embodied Agents using External Artifact Evaluations" by student Lesley van Hoek and researchers Rob Saunders and Roy de Kleijn.

Best Paper Award

At ArtsIT 2018, the 7th EAI International Conference on Interactivity & Game Creation. For the paper "B ai/摆: an Oscillating Sound Installation" by Danyi Liu, Jelger Kroese and Edwin van der Heide.

Best Paper Award

At INTETAIN 2016, the 8th International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Interactive Entertainment. For the paper "Do Warriors, Villagers and Scientists Decide Differently? The Impact of Role on Message Framing" by student Jorrit Siebelink and thesis advisors Peter van der Putten and Maurits Kaptein.

Dutch Hacking Health 2016, First Prize

For developing the "BedPartner" app to prevent hospital infections, co-created by student Hélène Trommelen.

At IHCI 2014, the 8th International Conference on Interfaces and Human Computer Interaction. For the paper "The Leap Motion Controller in a 3D Virtual Environment: Explorations and Evaluations of Pointing Tasks" by student Joanna Camargo Coelho and lecturer Fons Verbeek.

Best Hack Concept Award

At Hack the Brain 2014. For project "Lucid Dreaming", co-authored by students Lisa Rombout and Arjen Suijker.

Future Ideas European Master Thesis Competition 2013

Second place in the category "Entertainment, Media & Gaming" was awarded to the Master's thesis of student Lieven van Velthoven.

Dutch Game Award 2011 for Best Student Game

Awarded to the "Room Racers" augmented reality game by student Lieven van Velthoven.

At the Cinekid International Youth Media Festival 2011. Awarded to the "Room Racers" project by student Lieven van Velthoven.

At the International EuroHaptics 2010 Conference. Awarded to Staas de Jong for demonstrating his "Cyclotactor" technology prototype.
