Timeline exam preparation
In order to provide coherent, correct and qualitative exams that are ready on time, lecturers are requested to submit their exam questions three weeks before the exam, preferably using the templates provided by the tutor coordinator.
Timeline exams BA International Studies
As there are over 20 subjects for each exam period, checking the exams carefully and applying the four-eye policy takes time. Therefore, the deadline for handing in exam questions is usually (under normal circumstances) three weeks before the exam itself. Steps that have to be taken in these three weeks:

| 1. Check and edit layout and typos; | |
| 2. Clarify any ambiguities with the lecturer(s) regarding the number and formulation of questions; | |

3. Check for coherence across the areas/other subjects within this semester; |

| B. Send the exam to area tutor/coordinator of the course; | |
| 1. Check layout and typos; | |
| 2. Check feasibility for students; | |
| 3. Check coherence with level of lectures and readings; | |
| 4. Check whether questions are comprehensible. | |
| C. Second check tutor coordinator | |
| 1. Incorporate layout changes suggested by tutors and correct spelling faults; | |
| 2. Contact lecturers with questions that might have been brought up by area tutors/coordinators; | |
| 3. Send final version to lecturer(s), area tutor/coordinator and administration; | |
| D. Tasks administration | |
| 1. Sending the exam to the printer; | |
| 2. When exams return from printer: count copies to make sure amount is correct; | |
| 3. Sorting all exams and keeping overview; | |
| 4. Collecting answer keys and making sure that the right exams go to ICLON; | |
| 5. Finding out whether pictures have to be printed in colour; | |
| 6. Third check tutor coordinator: printed exams; | |
| 7. Checking whether the printed version of exams are correct. If not: seeking contact with the lecturer(s)/coordinator to discuss the correct version and to establish whether it is necessary to reprint the exam. |
