Word from the Chair: "Exciting Developments for International Studies!"

It is always fun to bring good news, and that is especially the case with this Newsletter.

Firstly, we are launching a brand-new set of four courses in September 2021 under the title Ecology, Migration and Tolerance: Limits to Cooperation? These will be available as a ‘Minor equivalent’ – this means they together represent 30 credits, they all run in the same semester, and they are available for our third-year students who need an alternative for their study abroad or internship plans. Are you a third-year student who is interested in following a minor? Our ‘Minor equivalent’ will be available for you as well. More details can be found in the article in this Newsletter!

If you would like information on other Minors that are available, please visit the upcoming Minor Market on 30 March.

Secondly, we are moving!! The BA International Studies will be moving in May to its new location in the Schouwburgstraat building, five minutes walk from Wijnhaven in the centre of The Hague. This is a very positive development – we will be more accessible than we were in Wijnhaven, enabling a more social environment for both students and staff. While Wijnhaven will still be a regular location for classes, many of your meetings with study advisors, internship and study abroad coordinators, and lecturers will take place in Schouwburgstraat. It will also become our base for administration and staff offices. As we will be the main occupiers of the building, we are looking forward to turning it into our own ‘International Studies HQ’!
