New Introductions
This year the programme board is joined by two new students, second-year student Svetlana Panova and third-year student Lotte Hasekamp. Below are their introductions. We look forward to welcoming their contributions!
Svetlana Panova
My name is Svetlana Panova, and I am a second-year student specialising in the East Asian region with Korean as my language. Having lived most my life in different countries around the world, including Belgium, South Korea and now the Netherlands, I bring an international perspective that reflects what our programma stands for.
I applied to become a Student Representative on the Programme Board because I believe it is crucial for students' voices to be heard and taken into account when decisions are made regarding our education. As students, we can provide first-hand insight into the programme and share valuable ideas on how things, if needed, can be improved.
As a Student Representative, my goal is to represent the interests of International Studies students, raise their concerns and contribute to enhancing the academic experience. Together with Lotte Hasekamp, we will work to ensure that your perspectives are heard and considered at the Programme Board.
Lotte Hasekamp
Hi! I'm Lotte Hasekamp, a third-year International Studies student from the Netherlands. I live in Leiden, where I'm very actively involved in the student life.
Within International Studies I specialise in Europe with German as my foreign language. Right now, I'm doing an international governance-focused minor and taking elective credit courses on literature - two areas I'm really passionate about!
I decided to join the Programme Board because I believe that it is incredibly important that students feel connected to the programme and confident that their opinions are being heard and considered. As a student board member, my goal is to further strengthen the connection between the students and the programme.
I'm excited to work with the board to keep improving our programme and study experience in a way that truly benefits the students, while representing the voices and views of my peers.
