During the VII BRICS Conference, organised by the University of São Paulo, prof.dr. Jan Aart Scholte contributed to a panel on the future of multilateralism.
On Monday 9 October 2023, Jelena Belic, Matthew Canfield, Rachel Griffin, Henning Lahmann, and Barrie Sander presented their research on 'The Promise and Perils of Human Rights for Governing Digital Platforms' during a GTGC lunch seminar.
On 6 October, Valentina Carraro gave a keynote speech at an International Expert Roundtable on anti-trafficking in human beings, titled 'Empirical Findings related to Overlapping Activities Performed by Human Rights Monitoring Bodies'.
On Monday 25 September, Marion Collewet, Matthew di Giuseppe, Jarek Kantorowicz, and Hendrik Vrijburg presented their reseach on 'Building Northern Public Support to Finance Climate Policies in the Global South' during a GTGC lunch seminar.
On 16 September, Valentina Carraro presented her work 'The Effects of Covid-19 on Violence' at the Conference of the Italian Political Science Association (SISP) in Genoa, Italy.
On Monday 11 September, Matthew Hoye presented an early draft of a grant proposal on 'Remittance, Paradigms, and Extreme Cases' during a GTGC lunch seminars.
During the Conference of the European International Studies Association (EISA) that takes place at 5-9 September 2023 in Potsdam, Germany, both Jan Aart Scholte and Valentina Carraro presented their research. Jan Aart presented his work on ‘Governing the Internet through South-Based Regional Private Regimes Legitimacy at AFRINIC, APNIC, and LACNIC'. Valentina presented her work on 'The Effects of Covid-19 on Physical Integrity Rights'.
After a successful first conference in June 2022, GTGC was pleased to have announced its second annual Conference at Leiden University's The Hague Campus on 7-9 June.
On 18 May 2023, Jan Aart Scholte gave a keynote address on ‘Globalisation or Geopolitics?’ at the European Sociological Association (RN15: Transnational and Global Sociology) in Milan.
On 17 May 2023, GTGC participated in the Leiden University symposium on interdisciplinary research together with the eight other interfaculty ‘stimulation programmes’.
