Antibiotics are special drugs used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Thanks to antibiotics, doctors can perform all kinds of modern treatments and operations that would otherwise be very risky; think, for example, hip surgery or cancer treatment. But there is a problem: bacteria are incredibly smart, and can adapt so that antibiotics no longer work: they become resistant. The more we use antibiotics, the more likely bacteria are to become resistant. To ensure that antibiotics do not lose their power, it is important that we use them wisely. In the antibiotics game, you will learn more about how antibiotics work, how to use them properly, and why bacteria can sometimes become resistant to antibiotics.

Language: English
Target group: children & adults
Time: 12:30 - 13:30 & 14:30 - 15:30 hrs

Here on Earth, we have the right conditions for life to flourish, and plants and animals can be found almost everywhere. But what is it like in other places in our solar system? What kind of aliens might live in the arid deserts of Mars or among the cloud bands of Jupiter? In this workshop, you will design an alien for that one specific planet!
