It is happy to announce the CLARIN Annual Conference 2021 (27-29 September 2021) and calls for the submission of extended abstracts. The deadline for submission is: 14 April 2021.
The NWO-funded research project ‘The Multilingual Dynamics of the Literary Culture of Medieval Flanders, c. 1200- c. 1500’ invites proposals for informal papers for a series of six e-workshops on the topic of ‘Multilingual Literary Cultures in the Middle Ages’. The e-workshops will take place in April and May 2021. They welcome proposals from scholars at all career stages, and particularly encourage ECRs. Deadline for submission: 1 March 2021.
The Huizinga Institute offers an online masterclass that explores how material, visual, and paratextual elements in manuscripts and printed books developed between 1400 and 1600, and how this influenced the ways in which readers navigated the book and experienced the text it contained. A couple of years ago Guy Geltner and Daniel Lord Smail founded BodoArxiv. It provides an open, non-profit repository for papers in medieval studies at different stages of gestation. Anyone can access and download any item on BodoArXiv freely and immediately (see: https://bodoarxiv.wordpress.com/) . Recently RI OPAC has agreed that scholarship uploaded to BodoArXiv will be automatically absorbed by this major bibliographical service, giving both preprints and their authors very high visibility through public infrastructures, and helping many comply with the NWO’s and ERC’s open access policies for free.
