Public leadership is the research focus of the Leiden Leadership Centre.

Learning Leadership Lab

One of the initiatives of the LLC is the 'Learning Leadership Lab', which was launched in 2012 in collaboration with Professor Keith Grint, Professor of Public Leadership, Warwick University, United Kingdom, and visiting professor of the LLC, and Anne Murphy, Lancaster University, UK, and senior adviser of the LLC. The project aims to discover new ways of leading, understanding and learning in the field of leadership and involves close collaboration with senior leaders and academics in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as well as with international networks and partnerships.

New Public Leadership

At the request of the Senior Civil Service (ABD), the LLC has carried out a study of future public leadership in central government. The research report 'Nieuw Publiek Leiderschap: topambtelijk leiderschap in tijden van verandering' (New Public Leadership: Leadership for top manager in times of change), can be found at   www.algemenebestuursdienst.nl.
