Conversation B1/B2 – multi-strip ticket (punch card) for 5 or 10 classes
The Academic Language Centre offers a variety of conversation courses at the B1/B2 level, for which you can buy a multi-strip ticket (punch card) of 5 or 10 classes. You can choose between classroom and online classes, offered on different days and at different times. This means there will always be a time and class format that suits you best.

Classroom and online classes
You can choose between classroom and online classes, whichever is more convenient for you. The different conversation classes are listed below, the schedule can be found here. For more information on the themes of the different lessons please look further down this page.

PLEASE NOTE:
- The five-strip ticket will be valid for six months and the ten-strip ticket for twelve months from the date of purchase.
- If you purchase a continuation strip ticket, please choose the Continuation option when you register, and please disregard the date 31-12-2024.
General conversation classes
Would you like to become more fluent in Dutch? In this course you will work on increasing your vocabulary and developing your spoken communication skills. You can also improve your pronunciation and intonation in Dutch, if necessary. The course will include discussion of topical subjects, alternated with exercises designed to promote fluency. Each week will have a different theme. Participants should allow for one hour of preparation per week.

In July and August there will be no conversation classes.
Target group and admission requirements
The courses are intended for adults with higher levels of education; either students and staff of Leiden University or other interested individuals who are not connected with Leiden University.
They are designed for people with an extensive basic knowledge of Dutch: people who have completed our Nederlands 4 course or a comparable course at another language institute. Anyone who has not completed such a course will need to assess whether their level is sufficient by taking an admission test. Course participants are expected to play an active part in the classes.

- The maximum number of participants in a class is 16.
