Warm Sweater Day and Week of Sustainability 2020

Warm Sweater Day, February 7th & Week of Sustainability, February 10th-14th

Warm Sweater Day, is a national movement, where institutions and organizations lower the temperature of their heating systems by at least 1 °C. The idea behind this movement is twofold, to raise awareness of the excessive use of energy and to lower the ecological footprint of the institution. Just like many institutions in the Netherlands, Leiden University also joined in on the challenge! Luckily the whole LUGO team was dispersed around various university faculties to spread awareness about the event while handing out tea and coffee  to both students and staff (so no frozen fingers or toes). If you would like to know more about the movement, click on the link

Furthermore, the LUGO community coordinators and their teams organized a full week of activities organized for the Leiden University community!  Thanks to our LUGO community coordinators there was loads to pick from both in the Hague and Leiden ranging from lectures, DIY cleaning products workshop and going to the Pronck brewery beer tour.  If you're sad that you missed out on these events, no worries! We will probably repeat some of these so keep your eyes peeled on our social media!
