Lecture: Climate Change & Health

Take a view on the slides of the presentation and read what the event of Climate Change & Health was about.

On the 10th of February, within the frame of the Well-being Weeks, speaker Maja Finkenstaedt (activist at Health for Future and medical student from UKE Hamburg) gave a presentation about the impacts climate change has on our health. The types of health complaints will change due to climate change and the medical field has to prepare future health staff accordingly. That is why, together with engaged staff members, Maja is engaged in the integration of climate change into the medical curriculum.

Professort Dr. Birgit-Christiane Zyriax (teaching at UKE) is one of the people involved with this adaptation of the curriculum. She provided the perspective and role of staff members in this process, sharing insights and tips. Finally, the head of the sustainability department UKE, Frank Dzukowski, gave an overview about projects at the university medical centre regarding sustainability. After the presentations, a Q&A was provided to give the opportunity for exchange and discussion with the audience.
