What's Next? "How To Get a PhD"
Many of our graduates are interested in pursuing a PhD, or have been successful in doing so. In this informal session led by Maarten Lamers and Zane Kripe, former students Miriam Traub and Larissa Boerenstam will share their experiences on how they got their PhD positions and what to look out for when applying for one. Followed by drinks at the FooBar/Fusie.
How to get a PhD research position is clouded in mystery. Is it all about searching for jobs online, filling in application forms and obtaining recommendations letters? Or does the research tribe actually hunt for their candidates and make their decisions in much more informal ways, behind the scenes? On this afternoon, we will dive into the interesting world of getting a PhD position, provide advice, and hope to answer your questions.
With the What's Next? series we hope to inspire current Creative Intelligence & Technology students, show the variety of paths taken after the studies, and bring together alumni and students. Editions of the series are generally organized around a particular theme.
These talks are organised by Creative Intelligence & Technology students themselves, and followed by social drinks.
