A couple of years ago Guy Geltner and Daniel Lord Smail founded BodoArxiv. It provides an open, non-profit repository for papers in medieval studies at different stages of gestation. Anyone can access and download any item on BodoArXiv freely and immediately (see: https://bodoarxiv.wordpress.com/) . Recently RI OPAC has agreed that scholarship uploaded to BodoArXiv will be automatically absorbed by this major bibliographical service, giving both preprints and their authors very high visibility through public infrastructures, and helping many comply with the NWO’s and ERC’s open access policies for free.
