Graduate School of Science
Research phase
During the PhD track, you can help your PhD candidates in several ways.
Keeping track of progress of the PhD training programme
The supervisor has a standard annual interview with each PhD candidate about their training plan and progress around following the courses. LUCRIS can be consulted for the status of courses followed. Together they discuss whether interim adjustment of the training plan is necessary. For PhD candidates with employee status, the Performance and Development interview serves this purpose and for other types of PhD candidates an annual monitoring interview. Supervisors see to it that these annual monitoring interviews are planned and taking place.
Golden rules for supervision
The Golden Rules for PhD supervision provide a set of best practices and expectations for both you and your PhD candidates.
LUCRIS
We use LUCRIS Graduate School Management (GSM module) to register steps in the PhD process. LUCRIS GSM supports various formal approvals that occur during the PhD track, that have to be done by the supervisor, dean, and secretary that occur during hte PhD track. Some documents, like the education and supervision plan (ESP/OBP) must be uploaded to LUCRIS GSM by the PhD candidate and must be approved by the supervisor.
You can find a complete overview of the administrative steps in the Workflow LUCRIS GSM. The LUCRIS GSM manual for supervisors and secretary can be found in the menu to the right.
