Seed & Breed Grant
A LUCIS Seed & Breed Grant is intended to support and stimulate LUCIS members and affiliated members in writing and submitting a research proposal for national or international funding.
This type of funding includes
- funding up to € 5.000 for the organization of two workshops or expert meetings with colleagues in the field to discuss a particular call for proposals.
- Student-assistance for one day per week for a full academic year.
Deadline
The LUCIS Seed & Breed grant will be awarded once a year. Funding and student-assistance will be available for one academic year (September 1st - August 31st). The deadline for submitting your application is May 1st. Decisions will be announced before June 1st.
General requirements and eligibility
- Applications are open only to LUCIS members and LUCIS affiliated members. Please note that when a Seed & Breed Grant is awarded to a LUCIS affiliated member, there should be a clear Leiden component in the research proposal.
- Grantees are required to submit a report after the end of their Seed & Breed Grant period.
Evaluation of proposals
Proposals will be evaluated primarily in terms of innovative potential, multi-disciplinary, cross-regional or cross-temporal integration and academic excellence. Applications for a LUCIS Seed & Breed Grant will be reviewed by the LUCIS steering committee.
