Please read the terms and conditions that apply to our courses and enrolments.

Participation is possible from a minimum age of 17 years.

Holiday periods are listed in the annual schedule of the Academic Language Centre.

If lessons are unexpectedly cancelled during a course, they will be rescheduled at the end of the course series. Please note that in this case, the course will finish one week later.

It is not possible to transfer your enrolment to a course in the next course period.

It is not possible to transfer your enrolment to another person.

If you have not previously taken a course at the Academic Language Centre and wish to start at a higher level than level 1, you must first complete an entry test.

For participation in a Dutch language course at the Academic Language Centre, English at B1 level (CEFR) is required.

If you have taken a Dutch course at the Academic Language Centre and did not pass the final test, it is not possible to enrol in the next level, even by taking an entry test.

In consultation with the Academic Language Centre, it is possible to enrol after the official start date of a course.
Please note that even if you join the course late, the full course fee will still be charged. -
Students and staff of Leiden University are eligible for a reduced course fee.
If you wish to enrol at the reduced rate, the Academic Language Centre may request proof of eligibility (LU card) at the time of enrolment. -
The reduced rate does not apply to alumni.

If the maximum number of participants for a course has been reached, no further enrolments can be accepted.
