International Studies moves to Schouwburgstraat

We are happy to announce that we will move to the Schouwburgstraat from half May onward.

It is hard to imagine these days, but teaching and support staff of International Studies used to have offices where they would come and work, meet each other and students. However, many students had no idea where those offices were, even before COVID-19. International Studies was kind of tucked away in the attic of the Wijnhaven building: the fifth floor, closed off for students by a glass door.

Offices and consultation rooms in Schouwburgstraat

We are therefore happy to announce that we will move to the Schouwburgstraat. From half May onward, International Studies offices and consultations rooms will be in Schouwburgstraat, even though it is highly likely that we will not be back on campus by then due to Corona measures. However, as soon as we will be back, you are more than welcome to come to Schouwburgstraat and meet us there. Depending on the situation, we might even have a festive opening later this year!

Classes in Schouwburgstraat and Wijnhaven

Just as before, students will have their lectures, tutorials and seminars in both the Wijnhaven and the Schouwburgstraat buildings. We will try to have as many International Studies classes as possible in Schouwburgstraat, but for the bigger lectures, as well as for the typical tutorial sessions, you will often still have to be in Wijnhaven.

Student information desk still in Wijnhaven

The central information desk will also stay in Wijnhaven for International Studies students, so in that regard nothing changes. And you are still free to use the other facilities at Wijnhaven as well, such as the cafeteria, the library and study spaces. But we encourage you to also come and check out Schouwburgstraat and the options you have there for studying and meeting your friends.

More information

We will, of course, let you know when you will be welcome at Schouwburgstraat. If you make an appointment with your coordinators of studies and physical meetings are allowed again, they will let you know that you can come to the new consultations rooms in Schouwburgstraat.

We are very excited about the move and hope you will enjoy our new environment as well!
