On 21 April 2022, the Democracy and Citizenship thematic stream organized a seminar which focused on the question of citizenship under conditions of global crises. Three researchers presented their work during this seminar: Marion Collewet “Participatory Value Evaluation of policy options for the energy transition – an application to the residential heat transition in Amsterdam.” ; Lydie Cabane “Un-solvable crises? Implementation and differentiation in multilevel crisis governance in the EU.” ; Matthew Longo “Borders after Covid: Defining the scope of concern.”
On 14 April 2022, the GTGC and LUCIR co-organised/sponsored an event about Preventing Future Ukraines at Wijnhaven building. The event was organized by Arlinda Rrustemi and it was attended by several speakers.
On 8 April 2022, Jan Aart Scholte gave a keynote lecture on ‘Multistakeholderism: Prospects of an Institutional Design’ at the T.M.C. Asser Institute.
On 8 April 2022, researchers of the seed grant project on 'How to Finance Climate Change Policies' presented their work to the Leiden Political Economy Group (L-PEG) and GTGC's Economy and Ecology thematic areas during a research seminar. The title of the presentation was 'How to Finance Green Investments? The Role of Public Debt'.
On Friday 1 April 2022, Tom Buitelaar presented his work to the Conflict, Peace and Security thematic area during a research feedback seminar. The title of his work was 'the Agency of Individuals in UN Peace Operations.'
On Friday 4 March 2022, Matthew Hoye presented his work on 'OFAC’s War in Afghanistan: Two Theories on Famine and Sanctions' to the Conflict, Peace and Security thematic area during a research feedback seminar.
On 28 February 2022, the Democracy and Citizenship thematic group launched series of bi-monthly meetings for scholars of Leiden University on challenges for democracy and citizenship posed by today's global transformations.

On February 24 2022, the Technology group organized a GTGC Tech Talk. During this meeting Anna-Lena presented her first PhD paper "Bringing the Social Back in: Big Science Collaborations as Social Spaces of Strategic Action".
Professor Jan Aart Scholte delivered an inaugural lecture, entitled “Governing a (Better) Global World” on Friday 4 February 2022 in the Groot Auditorium of the Academy Building, Rapenburg 73 in Leiden.
