About the Young Talent Award
Each year, this award spotlights a standout bachelor’s graduate whose thesis truly rises above the rest. Here you’ll learn how the selection works and where to find the talented students who claimed the title in previous years.
History of the award
Since 2019, the Leiden Science Young Talent Award has been awarded yearly to a student who completed their bachelor’s degree with an excellent thesis.
How we choose the winner
Each bachelor's programme puts forward one student for the Leiden Science Young Talent Award. A special jury reviews all candidates based on academic performance, the quality of the bachelor's thesis, and scientific talent. From these, a top four is selected. These students then give a short presentation to the jury, after which the final winner is chosen.
