He was awarded grants by Fulbright and the Prins Bernard Cultuurfonds in 2013 and 2014 respectively, and has previously worked as researcher for VU University Amsterdam, guest-columnist for De Volkskrant, and as attorney-at-law. In 2019, he won the annual Moot Court Competition of the Young Bar Association at the Supreme Court of The Netherlands.
