A 360-degree review furthermore showed broad support across the Faculty. Alex Geurds: 'In the past years, under Jan’s watch, we have seen the Faculty of Archaeology becoming a financially very stable institution. Under his supervision, the Faculty Bureau has further developed into a strong supportive pillar for the research and education provided by the Faculty. I am looking forward to continuing to work with Jan in his second term.'
'Thankful for the trust'
Jan Pronk is happy with the reappointment. 'I am very thankful for the trust I have been given. The faculty operates at the absolute forefront of archaeology worldwide. I am proud of the support staff and the vital work they do in contributing to this performance. Together with the academic staff, we have taken significant steps to reduce work pressure and are working hard, together with the community, to improve our internal culture. These are vital elements in ensuring that everyone here can find joy in their work. We have just completed a thorough process to establish a new Faculty Strategic Plan. So there is plenty of work ahead of us in the coming years, and I am happy I can continue to contribute to that.'
