When can I register for the Science PhD Day?

Registration will open early March. You will receive an e-mail when registration opens.

Who can register for the Science PhD Day?

All PhD candidates enrolled in the Leiden University Graduate School of Science can participate in the PhD Day.

How do I register for the Science PhD Day?

You can register via the "Registration" link in the menu to the left, or with the link you received in the invitation. Registration will open early March.

Is there a registration fee?

The Science PhD Day is free of charge for PhD candidates of the Leiden University Faculty of Science.

Can I take part in part of the day?

You are free to participate for however long you think is useful to you. Make sure you register for the parts you would like to participate in, as the number of spots available is limited.

How should I prepare for the Science PhD Day

For all workshops you will take part in, you can read up on the teacher for the workshop. Furthermore, some workshops require you to do some home preparations. This will be indicated in the information about the workshop, or will be communicated to you via email.

Can I earn any credits?

Participating in the Science PhD Day counts towards the 140 hours of activities focusing on transferable skills that employed and contract PhD candidates are expected to follow according to the Leiden University PhD guidelines.

You can earn up to a maximum of 8 hours if you attend the full-day programme. Your will receive a certificate of participation after the Science PhD Day for registration in LUCRIS GSM.
