The Hague Southwest Thesis Project
In The Hague Southwest Thesis Project, students from Leiden University, Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam work on challenges faced by The Hague Southwest priority neighbourhood and its residents.
The Hague Southwest Thesis Project is an educational platform at the LDE Centre of Governance of Migration and Diversity, where master’s students from different disciplines conduct applied research. This partnership between universities, civil society organisations and residents gives the students access to fieldwork, contacts and data files, along with the opportunity to conduct research with impact.
Real-world challenges form the basis of the master’s students’ thesis research, but it is important to give something back to society too. So at the end of their thesis research, the master’s students create another communication product, such as policy recommendations for the parties involved in their research. A mutually beneficial relationship, therefore.
