EUniWell, the European University for Well-Being, is an alliance of eight universities. The alliance’s aim is to promote an inclusive well-being agenda for students, staff, and society at large by offering new, innovative, interdisciplinary, and international opportunities for collaboration and development across education and research.

Leiden University will end its participation in EUniWell as of 1 January 2023.

EUniWell: alliance of eight universities

EUniWell is an European University that unites eight universities, alongside Leiden the universities of Birmingham, Cologne, Florence, Linneaus, Murcia, Nantes and Budapest (Semmelweis). The alliance offers students, researchers and teachers new, international opportunities for collaboration, mobility and development.

Looking beyond boundaries

The eight universities want to show that diversity and working beyond disciplinary and national borders is the best way to deal with the challenges surrounding well-being in universities, in society and in the world as a whole. EUniWell actively promotes pioneering research and innovation in education and research. The alliance focuses on four interdisciplinary areas of research that are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations:

• Health and well-being
• Individual and social well-being
• Environmental well-being and urbanity
• Teacher education
