Call for proposals
Priority will be given to activities related to the three themes identified by the Young Academy Leiden as particularly pressing for the next 444 years, as part of Leiden University's 444 celebrations:
- Data & Technology
This theme covers all aspects of big data, artificial intelligence and workplace transformation.
- Sustainability
This is understood in a broad sense, including climate change, global poverty, and well-being.
- Equality, Fairness & Justice
This theme addresses economic, gender, or social inequality as well as aspects related to fair treatment and justice.
Who can apply?
Researchers employed at Leiden University or the Leiden University Medical Center.
How much funding is available?
The standard amount will be 444 euros per activity. Larger events can request to receive up to double this amount.
Application procedure
Combine the following information into one PDF and send it to
youngacademy@bb.leidenuniv.nl:
- Short description of the activity, in particular highlighting its interdisciplinary nature.
- Names and affiliations of the organisers.
- Budget for the activity + requested amount.
Assessment procedure
Applications will be assessed as they come in, by a committee consisting of members of Young Academy Leiden. A decision will be made within one month. The call will close on 1 February 2020 or sooner if the total budget (5000 euros) is allocated before that time.
