University Teaching Qualification
Embarking on the journey to achieve the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) at Leiden University is a dynamic trajectory marked by reflection, development, and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Our training sessions are a core part of this.
The trajectory
At Leiden University, the trajectory to obtain a UTQ starts with an intake with your faculty contact person and then is followed by attending (part of) the UTQ training modules, creating a portfolio and taking part in an in-class observation to evaluate your teaching. Specific requirements and procedures may differ per faculty, to learn about what this means for you, please consult this page and get in touch with your faculty’s UTQ coordinator before subscribing to the training modules.
Take part in our UTQ training modules
The training modules are designed for teachers to reflect on and develop all facets of teaching as part of their trajectory to obtain their UTQ. The modules are organized around the following topics:
- Teaching in practice
- Supervising students
- Testing & assessment
- Designing education
- Inclusive education
Participants outside Leiden University are also welcome to follow these sessions. You can find upcoming sessions in the university's course agenda or via the UTQ module overview.
