Taking part in the Leiden Science Run is not only fun, it’s also a great way to stay healthy. With the right preparation, you’ll enjoy your achievement even more.

Train smart

Whether you're running 4.5 km or cheering on your team, some training helps you get the most out of the day. Follow a training plan or join a running group to build up your fitness safely.

Prevent injuries

Warm up properly, wear suitable running shoes, and follow a realistic training schedule. For more tips, visit voorkomblessures.nl (in Dutch).

On the day itself

  • Join the official warming-up session by the USC at 11:45 – a great way to get your muscles ready and the energy flowing!

  • There will be free water and fruit at the finish. Soft drinks and snacks are available for purchase.

  • Medical info? Write it on the back of your start number.

  • Respect the event rules:
    • Keep right, overtake on the left
    • Use the bins for cups and peels
    • Follow staff instructions
    • Help others if needed

And most importantly: enjoy it!
