'The kind of knowledge you gain in International Studies can take you anywhere,' says Gaby van de Wal (26, The Hague, The Netherlands), who graduated from the programme in 2018. Her own career path is proof that indeed, an International Studies degree comes with many opportunities.

The OLC, or the Education Committee, consists of five student members democratically elected by the student body of International Studies and five members of the teaching staff. This year the students representing International Studies are: Alessandra Barrow, Maurice Kirschbaum, Emil Munte, Eveline Vos and Madhav Warawdekar.

Hello everyone! Our names are Mila and Obaida, and we are both third year students of the International Studies programme here at Leiden University. Over the last few weeks, we have been working with a team of dedicated International Studies students on a project that will help students reconnect, socialise, and meet new people.

Meet Thomas King, alumnus BA International Studies: ‘I’m currently living in London which is a really amazing experience! I’m a British citizen and I moved to the Netherlands to study BA International Studies back in 2017. I had the best three years ever living in The Hague and studying at Leiden.’

Twelve weeks of hard work later, the big moment has finally arrived: the third-year students of International Studies are ready to complete the 'Practising International Studies' (PRINS) consultancy programme by pitching their advice. We were invited to attend the presentations on behalf of Free Press Unlimited.

Students in the third year of the BA International Studies programme follow the Practicing International Studies (PRINS) consultancy course. They conduct a project put forward by real clients and then present them with their research results. PRINS is so successful that it has now been running for 10 years.
