David Szepesi

In this article they will introduce the new Programme Board student representatives and ask them what they would like to achieve in their term.

David Szepesi

My name is David Szepesi and I’m third-year student of International Studies with a specialization in North America. Besides my studies, I am currently a Research Intern at the Roosevelt Institute for American Studies, a student assistant at the Institute for History at Leiden University, and a Communications Fellow at the Netherlands American Studies Association. I am passionate about research, politics, history and of course our program, International Studies. Outside of my studies and work, I enjoy going out with my friends, watching American football (go Pats!) and traveling.
This academic year, I’ll be part of the Program Board, where I hope to represent students’ interests and contribute to making our study program even better. I believe in pragmatic solutions, and I’m looking forward to working with both students and faculty to improve our program.

Saskia Banham van Bemmel

Hi! My name is Saskia Banham van Bemmel, and I am a second-year student
specialising in the North American region and French language. I am originally from
the UK, but moved to The Hague when I was seven years old.
I decided to join the Programme Board as Student Representative because I believe
it is important for students to be involved in the decisions that have an influence on
their education. As Student Representative, I want to ensure that all students feel
represented, heard, and taken seriously.
My goal as student representative is to bridge the gap between those who lead the
programme and the students. Through clear communication and an involved student
body, I believe we can really enhance the quality of this programme.
