Go to the International Mother Language Day event on 21 February (15:00-17:00) in Wijnhaven

Students and staff are invited to join this special event! Celebrate this day, filled with music, food, poetry and performances.

On Tuesday the 21st of February from 15:00-17:00, International Studies will celebrate its second hosting of International Mother Language Day on the Spanish Steps in Wijnhaven. The event is hosted in collaboration with the Embassy of Bangladesh, and sees a diversity of speakers and performances – all there to celebrate language and diversity!

The event showcases a diverse program, with a welcome from the Ambassador of Bangladesh, student music- and poetic performances, and speeches by representatives from UNESCO, the Taalunie and the National Coordinator against Discrimination and Racism in the Netherlands.

We are looking forward to welcoming the embassy and all great speakers to our university halls.

Registration is still open for the event. The embassy will serve authentic Bangladeshi snacks afterwards, so we most certainly encourage you to drop by between classes, chat to some inspirational speakers and share in good food!
