Study at NIMAR in Morocco (2026–2027)
Spend a semester abroad in Rabat, Morocco, with NIMAR (Netherlands Institute in Morocco). Open to HBO and university students in the Netherlands, the programme offers three 30 EC study options during the 2026–2027 academic year, each designed to deepen students’ understanding of Moroccan society, culture, language, and urban transformation.
Students can choose from Culture & Society in Morocco or Urban Studies in Morocco, both running from September to December, or Linguistic & Cultural Diversity in Morocco, offered from February to June and suitable as a minor. The programmes combine academic study with field-based learning, language development, and direct engagement with local communities and institutions in Morocco.
All programmes include excursions and field trips, guest lectures by Moroccan scholars and experts, opportunities to connect with Moroccan students, and the option to live with a host family in the medina of Rabat. Depending on the programme, students may also take part in a five-day study trip to a rural village on the edge of the Sahara or explore Morocco’s urban networks.
