Prof.dr. R.J. Baarsen

Reinier Baarsen is Professor by special appointment of History of the Decorative Arts at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society. He is interested in French and Dutch decorative arts of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, with a particular emphasis on furniture and the meaning of style, the moral and spiritual messages conveyed by form and decoration. Prof.dr. S.P.M. Bussels

Stijn Bussels is head of the Department of Art History and Professor Art history, especially before 1800 at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society.  His fields of interest includes early modern art and architectural history, early modern theatre history and agency and performativity. Dr. M. Keblusek

Marika Keblusek is a University Lecturer at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society. Her current research project focuses on the ethnographic and natural history collections of Bernardus Paludanus (1550-1633). Her MA-courses focus on the history and theory of collections; on looted art, contested cultural heritage and restitution politics; and on cultural memory and the museum landscape of Berlin. Prof.dr. P.J. ter Keurs

Pieter ter Keurs is professor of Museums, Collections and Society at the faculties of Archaeology and Humanities. Ter Keurs is also Academic Director of the LDE Centre for Global Heritage and Development. He specializes in critical museums studies and the study of material culture. He wants to stimulate the use of academic and museum collections in scholarly research and scientific eduation. View his full profile here.

Prof.dr. M.K. Valjakka

Minna Valjakka is Professor of Art History, especially on contemporary art history and theory in a global perspective. By bridging together art studies, urban studies, and environmental humanities, she investigates the dynamic interrelations reshaping contemporary art worlds in light of environmental crisis, translocal mediations and post/decolonial struggles, and how the contemporary arts, in turn, contribute to socio-political transformations.
