Organising committee
This year's SAfJR conference is organised by three statisticians from Leiden University and Leiden University Medical Center.
Stéphanie van der Pas
Assistent Professor, Leiden University & Leiden University Medical Center
Stéphanie van der Pas is an assistant professor in statistics at the Mathematical Institute of Leiden University and at the Leiden University Medical Centre, and a guest fellow at the Princess Máxime Center for Pediatric Oncology. Stéphanie's research interests include survival analysis, Bayesian nonparametrics, high-dimensional sparse data, and translating theoretical statistical results to medical practice.

Anja Rüten-Budde
PhD Candidate, Leiden University
Anja is a PhD candidate at the Mathematical Institute of Leiden University. Her research addresses predictive performance indicators for survival models. Motivation for this research are the applications of prediction models in the medical field, particularly in oncological data.
This research has been funded by the KWF.

Sanne Willems
PhD Candidate, Leiden University
Sanne is a PhD candidate in Applied Statistics at the Mathematical Institute at Leiden University. Her PhD research focuses on the analysis of survival data with ordinal variables. She implements optimal scaling and principal component analysis methods in the survival analysis setting. She prefers to apply these models on simulated or real data to see the effect of the methods on data. She collaborates with the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and the Dutch Employee Insurance Agency (UWV), which provide her some interesting data sets. Furthermore, she is interested in science communication and plans to do a research project in this field as part of her PhD project.
