Caribbean Ties at the VSC Ledendag 2019

On the 5th of November the annual Ledendag VSC (Membersday of the Dutch association of science museums and centers) is taking place at the Boerhaave Museum in Leiden. Tibisay Sankatsing Nava, international coordinator of Caribbean Ties, and Diederik Veerman of the Museon will be talking about the communication of NEXUS1492 results to the general public through the Caribbean Ties exhibit at the Museon and in the Caribbean.

Diversity and Inclusivity in the creation of museum exhibitions

During this event Tibisay and Diederik will be talking about their involvement in the international science and heritageproject Caribbean Ties. Their duo-presentation will cover the Caribbean and The Netherlands, then and now, homesickness and feeling at home. They will discuss the researchproject, the Caribbean Ties exhibitions, and the diverse public activities organized throughout the Caribbean and The Netherlands in context of the exhibition. In a short presentation, they will critically reflect on the co-creation process of Caribbean Ties; its' diversity and inclusivity, in the Caribbean and in The Netherlands.
