Carib – A journey through cultural ceramics

The Hera Carib project studies how people lived in the Lesser Antilles. In this short video, our colleagues from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven talk about the life of cycle ceramics: what material they are made of, how and for what purpose they are made.

Scientific analysis of ceramics from archaeological excavations helps to understand where these objects were made, which often differs from the place were they were found. This provides information on migration patterns and trade in the pre- and post-Columbian Caribbean.
